Model Guide · 2026 Wrangler
Seven trims plus the high-performance Rubicon 392 and the 4xe plug-in hybrid — a clear breakdown of every 2026 Wrangler and who it fits.
The Jeep Wrangler lineup is one of the most flexible in the off-road SUV segment, with seven trims plus the high-performance Rubicon 392 and the 4xe plug-in hybrid available across multiple trim levels. Each one targets a different kind of buyer. Here is a clear breakdown of every 2026 Wrangler trim and which one fits your needs.

The Sport is the entry point and a real off-road performer despite its simple equipment list. It includes the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission, Command-Trac 4WD with a two-speed transfer case, 17-inch steel wheels, fixed steel skid plates, a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, and the basics on safety equipment. Sport buyers tend to be off-road purists who want a blank slate to build on, or value-focused buyers who want a Wrangler at the most accessible price.
Sport S adds the comfort and convenience features many daily drivers expect. You get power windows and door locks, automatic headlights, deep-tint windows, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, body-color fender flares (on most builds), and additional convenience features without giving up off-road capability.
The Willys trim is a sweet spot for buyers who want serious off-road capability without the price jump to Rubicon. It comes with Dana heavy-duty axles, a Trac-Lok limited-slip rear differential, 32-inch all-terrain tires, rock rails, and Willys badging. For buyers who do real trail work but do not need lockers front and rear, the Willys is often the smartest choice.
Sahara shifts focus from rugged to refined. It adds body-color fender flares and grille, an upgraded interior with available leather, additional sound deadening, the Selec-Trac full-time 4WD system (which can stay engaged on dry pavement), and exterior styling cues that set it apart from the more rugged trims. Sahara buyers want a Wrangler that feels comfortable on the highway and around town while still being capable on trails.
The Rubicon is the trail-ready Wrangler and the trim most off-road enthusiasts buy. It comes standard with electronic locking differentials front and rear, an electronic sway bar disconnect, the Rock-Trac transfer case with 4:1 low range, Dana 44 heavy-duty axles, 33-inch all-terrain tires, rock rails, and unique exterior styling. The sway bar disconnect alone is worth the trim jump for anyone who actually rock crawls.

Rubicon X builds on Rubicon with 35-inch tires, beadlock-capable wheels, full-time 4WD, full leather seats, the Sky One-Touch power soft top (often included or available), steel bumpers, and an upgraded interior. It is the most capable Wrangler short of the 392, with a luxury edge that softens the trade-offs of trail-focused engineering.
The Rubicon 392 is the high-performance halo of the lineup. It uses a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 producing 470 horsepower paired with the eight-speed automatic, FOX shocks, a unique cold-air intake snorkel, and exclusive exterior and interior treatments. There is no other production V8 off-road SUV like it. The 392 sits at the top of the lineup and is the trim for buyers who want maximum performance and presence regardless of price.
The 4xe is available across multiple trim levels (Sport S 4xe, Willys 4xe, Sahara 4xe, Rubicon 4xe, Rubicon X 4xe). It pairs the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with a battery-electric motor system to deliver around 22 miles of all-electric range, full Wrangler off-road capability, and serious instant torque at low speeds. For buyers who want a Wrangler with EV efficiency for daily commutes and full Wrangler capability for weekends, the 4xe is the answer.

Ask three questions. First, what kind of off-roading will you actually do? Casual gravel and forest roads point to Sport, Sport S, or Sahara. Real trail and rock work points to Willys, Rubicon, or Rubicon X. Second, how much do you care about daily driving comfort? Sahara and Sport S balance trail capability with on-road comfort. Third, do you want electrified efficiency? Choose 4xe at the trim level that matches your other priorities.
Most trims are available in both two-door and four-door (Unlimited) configurations. The four-door is dramatically more popular and adds back seat space and cargo room. The two-door is shorter, more nimble on tight trails, and lighter, but at a real practicality cost.
