Powertrain Options

The 2026 Ram 1500 offers a fundamentally new powertrain story compared to its predecessors. The standard engine is the 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin-turbo, available in standard output (around 420 horsepower) and high-output (around 540 horsepower) configurations. A 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque mild hybrid is available on entry trims. The Ram 1500 RHO uses the high-output Hurricane to compete with the Raptor.

The Ford F-150 offers a wider total powertrain lineup: a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, a 5.0-liter V8, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, the 3.5-liter PowerBoost hybrid, and the high-output 3.5-liter on Raptor. The Chevy Silverado 1500 offers a 2.7-liter turbo four, a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter Duramax diesel.

Each manufacturer takes a different path. Ram bets on the inline-six. Ford keeps the V8 and adds a hybrid. Chevy keeps a deep V8 lineup and adds a half-ton diesel.

Towing and Payload

When properly equipped, the F-150 tows up to roughly 13,500 pounds and the Silverado 1500 tows up to about 13,300 pounds. The Ram 1500 with the Hurricane high-output engine and tow package tows up to roughly 11,580 pounds. Payload follows a similar pattern, with the F-150 leading at around 2,440 pounds maximum.

Interior

The 2026 Ram 1500 continues that tradition with the largest available touchscreen in the segment (a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5), a digital rearview mirror, a head-up display, and premium materials throughout the upper trims. The F-150 Platinum and Limited have closed the gap considerably with massaging seats and the largest segment displays. The Silverado interior was redesigned recently and is much improved over earlier generations but remains a step behind the Ford and Ram top trims.

Technology

The Ram 1500 offers the new Uconnect 5 system, available 14.5-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch passenger display option, the digital rearview mirror, and Hands-Free Active Driving Assist for hands-free highway driving. The F-150 offers BlueCruise hands-free, FordPass connected services, Pro Power Onboard generator capability, and SYNC 4. The Silverado offers Super Cruise, Google Built-In, and segment-leading display sizes on top trims. All three are highly competitive.

Hybrid and EV Options

The Ram 1500 lineup currently uses mild hybrid technology with eTorque on certain configurations. The all-electric Ram 1500 REV has been delayed but remains in development. The F-150 offers the PowerBoost full hybrid and the F-150 Lightning all-electric truck. The Silverado offers the Silverado EV. Off-Road Trims

The Ram 1500 Rebel anchors the mid-tier off-road segment, and the new Ram 1500 RHO sits at the top with desert-ready suspension and the high-output Hurricane. Ford answers with the Tremor and Raptor. Chevy offers the Trail Boss and ZR2. Each has fans, but all three brands now build credible off-road half-tons.

Warranty
